Hormone Replacement Therapy
Hormone Replacement Therapy in Orlando, FL
As we age, hormones like estrogen and testosterone naturally begin to shift. For some people, those changes can contribute to low energy, difficulty maintaining muscle, stubborn weight changes, poor sleep, decreased libido, mood changes, and that hard-to-describe feeling that you simply aren’t quite yourself.
At Oviedo Med Spa, we offer bioidentical hormone replacement therapy with EvexiPEL® hormone pellets to help women and men address hormone-related symptoms with personalized, medically guided care. Our physicians look at the full picture, including your symptoms, medical history, and lab results, to determine whether HRT may be right for you and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
With continued monitoring and follow-up testing, we can track how your body responds and make informed adjustments to future doses as your needs change. The goal isn’t simply to change a number on a lab report. It’s to help you better understand what’s happening in your body and support your overall health and quality of life.

What Is Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)?
Hormones play an important role in everything from your energy and mood to your metabolism, sleep, muscle mass, and sexual health. As estrogen and testosterone levels naturally change over time, some people begin to notice symptoms that affect how they feel day to day.
Hormone replacement therapy works by replacing hormones that have declined and bringing them back toward levels that are appropriate for your body. At Oviedo Med Spa, treatment is guided by your symptoms, medical history, and lab results, with ongoing monitoring helping your provider evaluate your response and make adjustments to future doses when needed.
- Energy & Cognitive Health: Hormone changes may contribute to fatigue, low motivation, brain fog, difficulty concentrating, and changes in sleep quality.
- Body Composition: Declining hormone levels can affect muscle mass, strength, metabolism, and the way your body stores fat, making changes in weight or body composition more noticeable.
- Mood & Emotional Well-Being: Some patients experience mood changes, irritability, anxiety, or simply feel less like themselves as hormone levels shift.
- Sexual Wellness: Changes in estrogen or testosterone can also affect libido and sexual function in both women and men.
Why Hormone Pellets?
Hormone replacement therapy can be delivered in several ways, including pills, creams, patches, injections, and pellets. While each option has its place, some require daily applications or frequent dosing to maintain hormone levels over time.
Pellet therapy offers a lower-maintenance approach by delivering hormones gradually for several months after a single in-office treatment.
At Oviedo Med Spa, we use the EvexiPEL®, which combines bioidentical hormone pellets with comprehensive lab testing and data-informed dosing. The pellets are placed just beneath the skin, where they are designed to release a steady, consistent amount of hormone as the body absorbs them.
There are no daily creams to remember, no concern about transferring topical hormones through skin contact, and fewer treatments to keep up with throughout the year. Rather than adding another task to your daily routine, pellet therapy is designed to provide consistent hormone support while your Oviedo Med Spa provider continues to monitor how you feel and how your body responds.
Benefits of Hormone Pellet Therapy
- Convenient, Long-Lasting Delivery: Hormone pellets release gradually over several months, so there’s no daily cream or pill to remember and fewer treatments to keep up with throughout the year.
- Steadier Hormone Delivery: Rather than delivering a larger dose all at once, pellets are designed to provide a steady release of hormones over time, helping maintain more consistent levels between treatments.
- No Topical Transfer Concerns: Because pellets are placed beneath the skin, there’s no medication sitting on the skin that could accidentally transfer to a partner, child, or pet through close contact.
- Data-Informed Dosing: EvexiPEL® uses lab testing and a data-driven dosing system to help your provider determine a dose based on your individual needs. Ongoing monitoring also helps guide adjustments to future doses as your hormone levels and symptoms change.
What to Expect
Before Treatment
- Your treatment begins with a consultation to review your symptoms, medical history, and other factors that may be contributing to how you feel.
- We’ll order bloodwork to evaluate your current hormone levels along with other relevant health markers. These results help us determine whether hormone replacement therapy may be appropriate and guide your starting dose.
- Once your lab results are available, you’ll meet with one of our physicians or nurse practitioners to review your results, discuss the potential benefits and risks of treatment, and create a personalized plan. When appropriate and scheduling allows, pellet placement may be completed the same day as this consultation.

During Treatment
- For your pellet placement appointment, wear loose, comfortable bottoms with an elastic waistband, such as basketball shorts, sweatpants, or linen pants, and avoid restrictive clothing like leggings or fitted jeans.
- Pellet placement is performed right here in our office. We’ll first numb the treatment area to help keep you comfortable throughout the procedure.
- Your EvexiPEL® hormone pellets are placed just beneath the skin. For women, pellets are typically placed in the upper glute area, while men typically receive them in the hip or upper flank.
- The actual pellet placement typically takes only a few minutes, making it a quick addition to your day.

After Treatment
- Patients will receive a comprehensive list of post-treatment protocols and instructions regarding bandage removal following their treatments. Patients will also need to avoid excessive sweating and avoid soaking in water (pools, lakes, beaches, hot tubs, baths, etc) for 3-5 days following their treatment.
- After your first pellet treatment, follow-up lab work is required at approximately five weeks. One of our providers will review your results and symptoms to evaluate how your body is responding. Completing these follow-up labs is required before moving forward with additional pellet treatments.
- From there, we’ll continue monitoring your symptoms and lab work so future doses can be adjusted as needed. Women are typically treated three to four times per year, while men are often treated about twice per year.
